Dolly Mavies is a singer-songwriter hailing from Oxfordshire now based in London.
With Welsh roots and soulful sounds, Dolly’s music embodies Florence welch ‘s power house vocals, Lucy Rose ‘s soft dulcet tones, and Daughter’s haunting and poetic lyrics. Her debut EP ‘Behind Closed Eyes’ released in December 2015, climbed to #25 in the iTunes singer-songwriter chart with the track The Rain, placing as a Finalist in the Folk category of the John Lennon International Songwriting Competition 2016.
Dolly recently supported the US cult band Vesperteen on their European tour in London and played at Common People Festival in Oxford. Dolly has previously played at the O2 Academy in Oxford as part of BBC Introducing, The Half Moon – Putney, Hootanannys – Brixton, The Hard Rock Café – London, The Jericho Tavern – Oxford, The Tin at The Coal Vaults – Coventry, Porters – Cardiff, Pyramid – Leeds, Rescue Rooms – Nottingham, and has played live on BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire as well as performing on That’s Oxfordshire TV, Bay TV Swansea and Made In Cardiff TV.
